Mayapan is located in the Yucatan State, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula approximately 57 km southwest of the city of Merida. To reach Mayapan by car from Merida, take Highway 180 heading south towards Kanasin, then take Highway 180 D southeast to Copanatoyac and turn left on the Highway 257. Follow the Highway 257 into Mayapan. If travelling by air, the nearest airport is Merida International Airport (MID), about 57 km from Mayapan. The airport has regular connections to Mexico City and other domestic destinations such as Cancun, Cozumel, Huatulco, and Puerto Vallarta.
