History:

Luxor Museum is a archaeological museum situated in Luxor, Egypt. It was founded in 1986 and displays artifact from the various excavations of Egyptologist, such as Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb and Flinders Petrie's discovery of Deir el-Bahari. The museum houses more than 3,000 objects were discovered from the Pharaohs area civilization, such as statues, stelae, relief, jewelry, vessels, and much more from the New Kingdom, the Greco-Roman Period, and the more ancient Pre-Dynastic Period. The museum at Luxor includes two courtyard-like structures, the first of which is dedicated to artifacts from the ancient tombs. The second structure houses artifacts from many ancient tombs, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. One highlight of the museum is the Royal Mummy Room, which houses the mummies of two of the sons of Ramses II. The museum is also known to contain artifacts from the Middle and New Kingdoms of Egypt.
