History:

UCCZ Luveve is the congregational arm of the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ). It was formed in 1967 when the American Congregational Churches abroad and the United Free Church of Scotland merged and became part of the United Church of Christ. UCCZ Luveve is a voluntary association of congregations within the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe. It serves to facilitate communication between and among its member congregations, which are scattered throughout various parts of Zimbabwe. The church is strongly committed to liberating people from poverty, inequality and injustice, and to promoting peace and reconciliation. It takes an active role in helping to address the country's social and economic challenges. It also advocates on behalf of those who suffer from discrimination, violence and poverty. The church partners with individuals, families, as well as other faith-based and non-governmental organizations, in responding to contemporary social and economic needs.
