The Mall of the Emirates is a massive shopping mall located in the Al Barsha area of Dubai, UAE. With over 5.9 million square feet of gross leasable area, the mall comprises more than 630 international brands, a Ski Dubai indoor mountain ski slope, Magic Planet family entertainment area, the 500-seat Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre, a 14-screen multiplex cinemas with private VIP lounges, and more than 90 international dining and café options. The mall opened in September 2005 and was the first project of its kind in the Middle East. It was a pioneering development, offering an unprecedented variety of brands, entertainment, shopping, and leisure experiences. Building on the mall's success, it has continued to develop, expand, and diversify its offering in the years since opening. In 2008, the mall opened the indoor ski slope. It is the first ski resort in the Middle East and offers a range of winter sports and activities.
