History:

Al Majaz Waterfront is located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates and is o­ne of the most vibrant and visited tourist destinations in the region. The development of the area, which is part of the bigger Al Majaz project, began in 2005 and was officially opened by Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi in April of 2011. The waterfront project was part of a larger symbolic effort made by the Sharjah government to rejuvenate and update the emirate. The Al Majaz Waterfront, which stretches around 2.5 million square feet, is the only waterfront development of its kind in Sharjah. The project is a blend of residential, entertainment and leisure attractions, catering to locals, visitors and tourists alike. At the heart of the Waterfront lies the man-made Al Majaz lake that is surrounded by a number of attractions such as a souk, amphitheater, skating rink and numerous cafes, restaurants and shopping outlets.
