History:

Al Dana Park is the largest public park in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The park opened on April 28, 2017, and is one of the largest public parks in the country at 15 hectares. Located in the Al Muntasir region of RAK, the park cost approximately 60 million Dirhams and is spread over an area of 15 hectares, making it the largest of its kind in the emirate. The origins of Al Dana Park trace back to 2004 when Western Civil Construction L.L.C., a private company, had first begun the work of developing the park. After several delays, work on the project was resumed in 2014. The project included creating an artificial lake filled with fresh water, innovative and modern irrigation methods, an amphitheater, jogging track, cycling paths, change-rooms, lawns, picnic areas, and various recreational facilities. In order to cater to all age groups, the park was divided into three zones - a toddler playground, an outdoor gym, and over 14,000 square meters filled with green landscapes and trees. The park was designed by Baniz Company, and also features a mix of paved pathways, cobbled pavements, plants, and trees.
