The worship method at Sri Chaya Someswara Swamy Temple in Panagal involves many rituals and processes. The deities installed in the main shrine are invoked four times a day with elaborate rituals. The four rituals are known as Suprabhatam, Uthsavam, Chaturdasi Seva, and Sarvadarsanam. Other rituals include Prabhavati Seva, Navahas, Teerthaparayanam, Abhishekam, Rudrabhishekam, and Amavasai Seva. A special ritual called Kalyanotsavam is performed on the day of Sravanam when the idols of Lord Someswara and Goddess Buddhana are placed on an elephant and taken for a procession around the temple. At the end of the procession, they are taken to the Mandapam opposite the main shrine, where the Kalyanam is performed. The devotees also offer special pujas to their deities on other festivals such as Ugadi and Chaitra Pournami. They also perform various rituals during the Mahasivaratri celebrations.
