The worship method at Sri Chaya Someswara Swamy Temple in Panagal involves many rituals and processes. The deities installed in the main shrine are invoked four times a day with elaborate rituals. The four rituals are known as Suprabhatam, Uthsavam, Chaturdasi Seva, and Sarvadarsanam. Other rituals include Prabhavati Seva, Navahas, Teerthaparayanam, Abhishekam, Rudrabhishekam, and Amavasai Seva. A special ritual called Kalyanotsavam is performed on the day of Sravanam when the idols of Lord Someswara and Goddess Buddhana are placed on an elephant and taken for a procession around the temple. At the end of the procession, they are taken to the Mandapam opposite the main shrine, where the Kalyanam is performed.
