Maragathambal Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the locality of Pazhavangadi in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The temple was built during the reign of the Chola Dynasty in the 9th century CE. The temple follows traditional Hindu rituals and worships the primary deity of Lord Shiva in the form of Maragathambal or Mahalakshmi. The temple celebrates major festivals such as Maha Shivratri, Pradosham, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Tamil New Year and other festivals related to Lord Shiva. The daily poojas, performed in the temple, includes Kalasandhi Puja, Uchikala Puja, Sayarakshai Puja, Arthajama Puja and Rakkalam Puja.
