Latin Cathedral in Syria is a Roman Catholic church located in Damascus. It is the seat of the Latin Patriarchate of Antakya, an ecclesiastical region that covers Syria and parts of Lebanon and Turkey. The first Catholic bishop in Damascus was appointed in 1250. The current Latin Cathedral was erected sometime around 1740, and it was instituted as an episcopal see in 1749. It is one of the oldest churches in the region and serves as a place of worship for some of the few remaining Catholic communities throughout Syria.
