Bern Switzerland Temple In Switzerland: History,Facts, & Services
The Bern Switzerland Temple is the 13th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The temple was announced in October 2011 and dedicated by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf on September 11, 2016. Construction on the temple began in spring 2014 and the groundbreaking for the temple took place prior to the announcement in October 2011.
It is one of the best churches in Switzerland which you must visit.
History:
The church has had a presence in Switzerland since being introduced to the country by Mormons in the mid-1800s. The first Swiss Latter-day Saints left to join the Saints in Utah in the late 1840s and 1850s. In the early 1900s, Swiss Latter-day Saints built a chapel in Thun and other local congregations began gathering together. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Switzerland.

Once the temple is open for services, the Bern Switzerland Temple will offer ordinances related to eternal families such as baptisms for the dead, living sealings and marriages, as well as other temple-related ordinances, such as blessings and endowments.
