: The Seventh-day Adventist Church, Zion, Suriname has its origin in a small mission station created by Elder J.L. Wagner and his wife in the village Djombame in 1898. In 1915, a church building was completed on a plot of land purchased from the local government. Since then, the Zion church has consistently spread the gospel in the villages of the Coronie district in Suriname. The church is currently the largest in its district, with more than 700 members. It is a vibrant church, with a variety of ministries, including a primary school, youth and children ministries, health and outreach ministries, and an effective evangelism program.
