Worship Method:

The worship method of Kanagarayankulam Ithiyadi Siththivinayagar Temple begins with the lighting of a lamp in the holy shrine. The Devasthanam (sanctum sanctorum) is then opened and the image of Lord Ithiyadi Siththivinayagar is taken out and placed on a decorated podium. The festival is begun by offering flowers and fruits to the deity. The priest then chants verses from the various Agamas and Thiruppavai. Devotees observe this ritual silently, often joined in by participating in the chanting. Flowers, fruits, incense and camphor are used for offerings. After this, the Arati is performed, where a lighted lamp is waved around the deity. The Arati is accompanied by music and the devotees make offerings of coins, coconut, fruit and incense. All the devotees chant the names of the Lord as they perform puja (worship). After the puja, aarti (circumambulation) is performed and offerings are made to the deities.
