Christ Church Dickoya is an Anglican church located in the small mountain village of Dickoya, Sri Lanka. It was founded by the British Wesleyan Methodist Mission in the late 19th century and has been a vital part of the community for over a century. According to its official website, “Christ Church Dickoya is a place of spiritual encouragement, fellowship, and outreach to the local community.” It is one of the best churches in Srilanka which you must visit.

History:

 Christ Church Dickoya was constructed in 1895 and dedicated to the memory of abandoned young officers of the British army. In 1904, after the British-imposed reformation of Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in Sri Lanka, the Anglican Church of the Province of Ceylon (now known as the Church of Ceylon) took control of Christ Church and it remains under its authority today. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Srilanka.
