St. Anthony's Shrine - Liyanagemulla In Srilanka is a popular Catholic Church located in Liyanagemulla, Sri Lanka. It is a well known sanctuary and a major pilgrimage destination. The St. Anthony Shrine is around 200 years old and was built in honor of St. Anthony of Padua (Fresco of St. Anthony by Murillo, 1614-1616). The Shrine shrine is dedicated to the Saint's devotion to the poor and outcasts. It has become an important place of pilgrimage, where devotees make testimonials, seek blessings and ask for favors. The Shrine is also known for its painted panel statues of saints by the legendary Sri Lankan artist, Ludowick de Silva.
