St John the Evangelist, Clevedon is a Church of England parish church in North Somerset, England. The church was built in the 19th century to designs by the architect Richard Hector Abel-Smith. It is Grade II listed building. It is situated close to the Bristol Channel and overlooks the town of Clevedon. The parish is part of the Peninsula Benefice of North Somerset. It is one of the best churches in England which you must visit.

History:

St John's was built in 1842 to replace a 13th century chapel which was located on the same site. The foundation stone of the new church was laid by Her Grace the Duchess of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
