Parroquia de la Inmaculada Consepcion is a Roman Catholic parish and former convent located in Talca, Chile. It is located near the Historic Center of Talca and is linked to Talca Cathedral. It was founded by Franciscan father Esteban Deza in 1590 to adorn the image of the virgen Inmaculada.
It is one of the best churches in Mexico which you must visit.
History:
Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepcion was constructed in 1590 and has preserved much of its architecture and art from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It was also considered a Franciscan convent until 1869 when the monastery was abolished. In 1837, a cloister was added to the east facade, while a sacristy was added in 1856 to the north facade of the church. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Mexico.

-Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepcion was declared a National Historic Monument in 1962. -The main altar contains the remains of both Santiago, who was executed in the city, and Fernando Santa Cruz y Montes de Oca who served as Governor of the former Intendencia of Talca and died here in 1820. -The nave of the temple is covered by 17th century, plain woodwork and the chancel is from the same time period. -The interior of the nave still contains some of the original frescoes of 1627, including the classic angel from heaven.
