It is located on the corner of 48th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan, just off the traditional Theater District. It is known as the Broadway Church due to the proximity of many theaters and shows. The church is home to a vibrant congregation, strong volunteer program, and many social outreach initiatives. History:

The Parish of the Holy Innocents was founded in 1853. The Rt. Rev. Horatio Potter, the Episcopal Bishop of New York, invited the Rev. Charles T. Welles to found the parish as part of Potter's effort to bring Episcopalianism to Manhattan. Welles was the first rector for the church and served for 14 years until his death in 1867. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Spain.
