Founded in 1978, the mission focuses on providing spiritual, cultural, and social development services to the people of Jardin, as well as neighboring communities. The Parish was founded in 1978 by Bishop Felix Martinez, with the help of the sisters of Religiosas de la Caridad de San Roque (Volunteer Sisters of Charity). This began a long-term collaboration between the sisters and the parish, with the sisters providing ongoing support in providing educational, spiritual, and medical services to the local community. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Spain.
