It was constructed during the period of 1828 and 1848 and is considered one of the most important monuments in the world. This Islamic-style mosque was designed by the Ottoman architects Yusuf Bushnak and Siuf Pasha. The structure of the mosque features a blend of Ottoman and Egyptian architectural styles, including three domes and four minarets. It is located in the Citadel of Cairo. History The Mosque of Muhammad Ali was constructed in the Citadel of Cairo to serve as the royal mosque of the Muhammad Ali dynasty and to function as a royal mausoleum.
