Worship Method:

Mingjiao Temple in China follows a relatively traditional Chinese form of Buddhist worship. Visitors to the temple are expected to begin by bowing three times in front of the central shrine. From there, they will burn incense, chanting sutras or prayers. Afterward, they will prostrate themselves three times before finally sprinkling water on the statue of the Buddha. After this, they may lay palm on the forehead of the statue in a gesture of acceptance and respect. Finally, visitors may present their offerings of food or drinks, say their thanks, and leave. Mingjiao Temple (明教寺) is located in Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is around 110 km (68 miles) away from downtown Ningbo. By bus: Take a bus from Ningbo South Bus Station (宁波汽车南站) to Ninghai County(宁海县), and get off at Fude Road Bus Station (福德路公交站) or Zhemong Temple (遮蒙寺). Then take a taxi to Mingjiao Temple. By car: You can drive directly to Mingjiao Temple from Ningbo. The route is: Ningbo→ Freedom Boulevard → Ninghai Avenue→ Yingzhou Avenue→Xiaxi Road→Mingjiao Temple.
