Iglesia del Salvador is a historical Catholic church located in the Barrio de Santa Cruz in Seville, Spain. It was originally built during the 12th century and served as the main church of the former Muslim neighborhood. It is one of the largest churches in Seville, and is also one of the few churches in the city to have both a Gothic and Renaissance design. History:

The origins of Iglesia del Salvador are linked to the Reconquista of Spain and the consequential repopulating of the former Muslim neighborhoods. In 1152, Muslim forces were defeated in the Battle of La Bíblena, and with it an influx of settlers entered Seville. In response to this population growth, a church was erected and dedicated to the patron saint of Spain, Our Lady of the Victory. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Spain.
