Park Church was founded in 1692 under the leadership of the Rev. John Bell. It is believed to be the oldest congregation in Dundee. In the early 18th century, it was part of the Secession Church. The Secession’s other churches in Dundee were Marywell, later the Roxburgh Street UF Church; and West Pleasant Street, later the East and West Dullatur United Free Church. In the 19th century, the Secession Church became the United Presbyterian Church. In the 20th century, it united with the Congregational Union of Scotland, becoming what is now known as the United Reformed Church. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Scotland.

Park Church has a traditional and beautiful style of worship. It is a single-story building with a symmetrical front elevation composed of stone and brick. Inside, the original oak pews are still in place. The pulpit is at the end of the building, with the communion table in the center. The stained glass memorial window in the east wall is the most important feature. It was installed in 1870, as a memorial to a former minister, the Rev. Dr. George Mackelvie.
