Kirk of Calder is a Parish Church of the Church of Scotland located in the village of East Calder, West Lothian, Scotland. The church was established in 1808 and serves the villages and communities of East Calder, Mid Calder, Harburn and Windygates. The church building was completed in 1848. It is one of the best churches in Scotland which you must visit.

History:

The first Minister of the Parish Church of Kirk of Calder was the Rev. Alexander Malcolm, ist of Wallhouse, who was appointed in 1808 and inducted in 1810. Following a fire that destroyed the original building in 1848, the church was reopened in 1849 with the Rev. John B Hill as Minister. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Scotland.

The church building has two levels, with the upper level used for worship and the lower one for Sunday School and youth activities. The church has a seating capacity of approx. 345 people. The building also features a pipe organ which was installed in 1855.
