Baldernock Parish Church was officially formed in 1860 after it was decided that the local population of the area had grown too large to be served by the nearby Campsie Parish Church. The foundation stone of Baldernock Parish Church was laid on 31 May 1860 and the church was officially opened on Monday, 2 December 1861. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Scotland.
