The church is a category B listed structure and stands in the old churchyard of the ancient Hill of Silvie. The earliest features of Kincardine Church date back to 1638, when a laird of Kincardineo'-Neill built a church on the site. The building has been extended and greatly improved over the centuries since originally built, most notably in 1720 and 1885.
