History:
Inverness Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St Andrew, was built in 1866. Its foundation stone was laid by the 8th Earl and Countess of Seafield, and its foundation deed was signed by Queen Victoria. The building of the Cathedral was funded by the Earl of Seafield and it was designed by David Bryce, Scotland's leading Gothic revivalist.
