It is a stunning two-storey mosque that covers an area of 7,000 square meters. The building incorporates traditional Islamic architecture and motifs, along with modern design elements. The outside facade is made of imported marble and a grand dome covers the center of the mosque. The interior is adorned with intricate mosaic designs, arched windows, and elegant chandeliers. The mosque is also equipped with a beautiful minbar (pulpit) decorated with ornate carved wood and a spectacular mihrab (niche in the wall) that faces the qibla (direction of prayer). The walls of the mosque are adorned with Koranic verses in calligraphy. Masjid al-Zahra also includes a library, lecture halls and an outdoor courtyard with water fountains.
