: Masjid al-Nasr (Riyadh) is one of the oldest and most prestigious mosques in Saudi Arabia, having been established in the early 8th century. It is situated in the Al-Nasr district of Riyadh, the capital of the nation. The mosque is believed to be the first ever built in Riyadh. It is also famous around the country as it was the scene of the famous Battle of Al-Nasr (Battle of the Mountains) in 1872. The structure was built with tall white walls which encase it from all sides, and its domes and minarets are made of intricately carved stone. Originally, there were two smaller mosques which were positioned on either side of the large prayer hall, but these were replaced by a single new communal prayer hall in 1994. The mosque remains a significant site of worship in Riyadh, with daily Adhan’s made from its towers, and regular Friday prayers. It is one of the most famous mosque in Saudi-Arabia which you must visit.

It has a large open courtyard with a carpeted prayer hall and a beautiful dome that is carved with decorative motifs. The inner area of the mosque can hold around 8000 worshipers. It has towering minarets and a large marble fountain. The mosque also has a VIP room for visiting dignitaries. The walls of the mosque are richly decorated with quotes from the Quran and marbled artwork. There is also an Islamic library present inside the mosque which houses various books and manuscripts related to Islamic history and culture. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
