Seventh-day Adventist Church, Babonneau In Saint Lucia: History,Facts, & Services

The Seventh- day Adventist Church, Babonneau is a congregation of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church located in the small town of Babonneau in the Caribbean island nation of Saint Lucia. The origins of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Babonneau can be traced back to when, in the late 1890s, Missionary Ephraim G. Smith and his wife arrived on the island in response to a call for medical ministry. Smith was warmly welcomed by local communities and as a result, soon after his arrival, a Seventh-day Adventist mission was established in the nearby area of Canaries in 1898. The mission was later shifted to Babonneau where the original building of the Babonneau Seventh-day Adventist Church still stands. At present, the Babonneau Seventh-day Adventist Church provides a variety of spiritual and practical services to its members and local communities, with the objective of helping them lead healthy and purposeful lives. The church has activities and programs aimed at helping members of all age groups to grow spiritually, including weekly Bible studies, prayer and praise meetings, and a variety of other activities such as camps, seminars, volunteer services and outreach programs. The church also provides practical support to its members and local communities through health and wellness initiatives, education and counseling services and post-secondary training programs.
