Saint Peter Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Davenport, Iowa. Founded in 1845, it is the oldest continually-operating Catholic parish in the state of Iowa. The church is dedicated to Saint Peter and is part of the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. It is one of the best churches in Saint Lucia which you must visit.

History:

 St. Peter Catholic Church in Davenport was established in 1845 by Father Samuel Charles Mazzuchelli in what was then the Diocese of St. Louis. With the arrival of the first Irish immigrants, it became the first organized Roman Catholic parish in Iowa. The site of the original church was on Harrison Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets. The church building was replaced in 1854 with a larger structure at Fifth and Main Streets, where the church still stands today. Over the course of time, the church has seen a number of renovations, including a major renovation of the interior in 2008. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Saint Lucia.
