The church is led by a team of Pentecostal pastors and local mission partners and it has over twenty congregations throughout Saint Lucia and in Barbados and Guyana. The Babonneau Pentecostal Church was birthed by the Rev. Mr. Gaston and Rev. Ms. Maria Mathurin, who were inspired by the coming of the Holy Spirit during the Charismatic Movement in 1966. In 1967, the Church held its first meeting at the home of Mrs. Celine Ambroise in Babonneau, which was attended by 38 people. The fledgling church was registered as the Pentecostal Gospel Fellowship of Saint Lucia in 1968. By 1970, the church had expanded to other areas of Saint Lucia, and it was formally renamed Babonneau Pentecostal Church.
