University Church of St. Nicholas is a church situated in the heart of the University of St Andrews in Scotland. It was founded in 1410 as the first place of worship in the town, and is therefore the oldest church surviving in continuous use in the whole of St Andrews. It is said to have played a significant role in providing a spiritual home for the university student body since the fifteenth century. It is one of the best churches in Germany which you must visit.

History:

The Church of St. Nicholas was founded around 1410, when the Church of St. Salvator, the combined Chapel and chancel of St. Salvator’s College, burned down in 1395. It is thought that the Church of St. Nicholas was built during the rebuilding of St. Salvator's College. This church served as the main parish church for the town of St. Andrews for more than 500 years. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Germany.
