Temple of Kom Ombo is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile River in Aswan Governorate, southern Egypt. It was constructed during the Ptolemaic period, between 180 and 47 BCE. It is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, and the gods Horus and Haroeris. The temple has many special features, including two separate temple sanctuaries, carved reliefs and hieroglyphics, and a sprawling courtyard known as the Peristyle. Its history is marked by a series of enlargements and restoration projects, such as Cleopatra’s renovation of its entrance. The temple is still used for religious ceremonies and events. History:

While the original structure was constructed during the Ptolemaic period, the temple underwent a series of enlargements and renovations by different rulers. During the Roman period, the temple was connected to the Nile and further developed to incorporate a number of other structures. During the Greco-Roman period, additional features were added and the temple was redecorated. Very little of the original structure remains today, with much of the original structure being destroyed over time due to natural disasters and human interference.
