History:

St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church was founded in 1893 when Father Charles Francois and Father Louis Laberge began gathering the small community of Catholics in the area. The small congregation met in the home basement of Mary Doering, until a frame structure was erected in 1898, which is now St. John's Catholic Church. In 1922, after years of growth, the current church building on Thomas Street was dedicated. The church was named in honor of St. Vincent de Paul, a 17th-century French priest and social reformer. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in USA.
