Santuario de Jesús de Nazareno de Atotonilco is an eighteenth-century Baroque Shrine located in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Founded in 1740, it served as a school and convent for Franciscan friars. It is considered a National Monument of Mexico and one of the best examples of Mexican Baroque architecture. It is a pilgrimage site for many in Mexico and around the world, and is the site of the annual pilgrimage to honor the Lord of Atotonilco, which takes place each May. The Shrine features multiple chapels, religious paintings and sculptures, colorful frescoes, and elaborate altars, which have helped it to become a popular tourist destination.
