Brief History:
: The Mosque of Al-Sayyida Khadija is located in Aswan, Egypt. It was built in the 12th century by Al-Azhar Al-Osmani. It is dedicated to the wife of Prophet Muhammad, Khadija bint Khuwaylid. The mosque is built in an Islamic architectural style and has a large prayer hall with a minaret. Inside, the interior is decorated with sculptures, mihrabs and ceilings with ornaments and Islamic calligraphy. The mosque also features a library which contains valuable religious and scientific documents. It is one of the most famous mosque in Egypt which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Mosque of Al-Sayyidah Khadija in Aswan, Egypt was built in the Middle Ages in the traditional Fatimid architectural style. The building is located on top of a hill and utilizes a combination of local stone, plaster, and wood. The main entrance is a large, curved doorway that is framed by a large arch and carved stone decorations. Inside, the structure features a large, open courtyard surrounded by a series of smaller rooms and galleries. Most of the roof is covered in traditional-style wooden trelliswork and adorned with colorful tiles and mosaics. It is also covered in a latticework of muqarnas, which are widely used in Islamic architecture. The central structure is topped with a large brass dome that is visible from a number of locations around the city. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Travel Information:
Mosque of Al-Sayyidah Khadija in Aswan is situated on High Dam Street, across the street from the Stella Di Nilo Hotel. The nearest airport is Aswan International Airport located around 7km away. You can take a taxi or bus from there to reach the Mosque. Aswan also has a railway station that can be used to reach the Mosque. You can take the train from Cairo to Aswan and disembark at the station. From there, you can take a taxi or walk to the Mosque. The city has plenty of bus and minibus routes that take you to various areas across the city. Buses and minibuses can be taken from various stops in the city to reach the Mosque. The Mosque is also easily accessible by-foot. If you are planning to drive to the Mosque, there is plenty of parking available near the site. beautiful masjid.
