Medinet Habu temple in Luxor is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor. It was built by the 18th Dynasty Pharaoh Ramses III, and dedicated to Amun-Ra, the principal God of Thebes. It is made up of two sections: a large court flanked by towers and a smaller enclosure that is home to a variety of religious scenes and reliefs. It also features some of the best preserved and most elaborate paintings from pre-dynastic times. History:

The Medinet Habu temple was built in the early 11th century BC and served as the primary funerary temple for Pharaoh Ramses III. It was largely the same in style and design as the Pharaoh's previous funerary temple – the Ramesseum. Many of its reliefs depict the divine birth of the Pharaoh, as well as his military campaigns and deification of the gods. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Egypt.
