Built by the Jesuits in 1622, the church is dedicated to Our Lady of Solitude, and is one of the oldest churches in Mexico. History:

The original Church of La Soledad was founded by the Jesuits and completed in 1622. It was originally located by the Plaza Mayor before being moved in 1743 to its current location. The church underwent complete renovation in 1976, when the colonial bell tower and outbuildings were reconstructed. The sculptures and artwork were also refurbished in the renovation. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Mexico.
