The church dates back to the 11th century and is believed to be the burial place of Ethelwine, the last Anglo-Saxon Bishop of Huntingdon. It was also the church mentioned by John Bunyan in his book The Pilgrim's Progress. The present building dates from the 12th century, although it has been extended and altered a number of times. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

Other services include Evening Prayer on the third Sunday of each month, followed by tea and coffee.
