The church features two separate towers, a chancel, and a long nave. The exterior of the church is adorned with three warps and a roof with a single ridge. The church was first mentioned in a document dating back to 1210. Since then, it has changed vastly, undergoing numerous renovations and remodelings. In the 1400s, the entire church was redecorated in the late-Gothic style. During the centuries, some of the walls were removed, while two towers and a chancel were added. In 1668, the interior was redesigned in the Baroque style. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Denmark.
