Zion Lisboa was established in 1982 following the removal of religious restrictions in Portugal enacted in the early 1970s. Since its founding, the church has experienced significant growth and now holds multiple services each week for its 1200 members. The church runs numerous programs, including a popular weekly radio show, a curriculum for Christian formation, and a system of congregational parachurch ministries. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Portugal.
