Wat Mongkhon Phukkaram is a 500-year-old monastery located in the Saba Yoi District of Songkhla Province, southern Thailand. It is said to be one of the oldest and most important Buddhist sites in the region. The temple is home to a large chedi (circular tower-like monument) that is intricately decorated with sculpted figures, representing Buddhist and Hindu gods. Inside the chedi, visitors can find a number of ancient artifacts that tell a tale of the temple’s history and are cherished by the local people. Wat Mongkhon Phukkaram is also known for its annual festival, the Katu Aran Fair, which is celebrated in February. During the fair, visitors can witness traditional ceremonies and experience colorful cultural performances.
