Phu Dong Bridge is a bridge located in Phu Duc District, Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam. The bridge is considered to be the longest river crossing bridge in Vietnam with a total length of 1.5 km. History:
The bridge was designed and supervised by the Japanese Government’s Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF). The project was managed and constructed by Obayashi Vietnam Co., Ltd together with Nippon Koei Company and a Vietnamese non-governmental organization, East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC). In April 2008, the construction officially began with the completion of white earth works and the first spans. After 7 years of construction, the bridge was completed in November 2015. Travel:
Phu Dong bridge is easily accessible and there are many ways to get to it. From Hue City, it can be reached by taking the Thua Thien Hue Expressway. The best way to get to the bridge is to take a taxi, as it is located in the middle of the countryside and there are no public transportation options. Once there, visitors are able to take in the view and marvel at the bridge’s size and grandeur.
