History:
My Phuoc Theatre was built in the late 19th century by a French architect, making it one of the oldest surviving theatres in Vietnam. The theatre has been the venue for many well-known performers, including the National Ballet. During World War II, it was occupied by the Japanese and then the Allies. After the war, the theatre resumed its shows and films, and in 1969, it was opened to the public. After the Vietnam War, the theatre was in a state of disrepair. In the late 1990s, it was renovated and re-opened to the public.
