Overview:
Doi Pha Phueng lies at an altitude of 1,119 meters and is one of the highest mountains in Thailand. The forest on the slopes of this mountain is protected by Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, which was established in 1984. This protected area includes a variety of ecosystems, including evergreen forests, sub-tropical, and dry dipterocarp forests.

Doi Pha Phueng is home to a variety of plants and animals, including bird species such as the Great Hornbill, Green Peafowl, and Lineated Barbets. Other animals found at Doi Pha Phueng include macaques, wild boar, Himalayan Black Bear, Asian Black Bear, langurs, and gibbons.
History:
Doi Pha Phueng is believed to be millions of years old, first having been formed during the middle Pleistocene period. During the early 1890s, the mountain was explored extensively by the British, who gave it the name of Doi Pha Phueng and constructed several roads in the area.

Doi Pha Phueng is a popular tourist site and is accessible by private vehicles. Visitors can trek and explore the forests and enjoy the views from the top of the mountain. In addition, visitors can reach a peak from within the Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park to observe the views of the mountains and valleys surrounding the area.
