History:
The island has an interesting history that ranges from ancient times to the present. Its name, Co Phut, translates to "the Island of the King". This is believed to refer to a local prince who lived on the island during the Sukhothai period (13th to 14th centuries). In the 17th century, the island was used as a base by the Dutch East India Company and in the 19th century it became an important trade and exploration outpost. Co Phut

The best way to explore Co Phut is on foot. The island has a well-developed network of jungle roads and paths, which make it one of the best places in Thailand for hiking and trekking.
