Tukon Chapel In Philippines is located in Zambales, Philippines. It is a historical monument built by the Spanish colonialists almost four centuries ago. It is the oldest chapel left standing in the province and it still serves as a place of worship. The chapel was built in 1660 by the Recollects, a missionary order under the Dominican friars. It has a simple architecture with walls made of coral stones, mud and coconut tree trunks. It is also known as the Chapel of Don Galo, in honor of an illustrious Dominican friar and teacher of the province. The chapel celebrates mass every 8th of December, with a customary procession and the traditional Kapakanayan Festival. Tukon Chapel also serves as a landmark of Tangat Guna, a pathway that connects Zambales mountain villages.
