Built in the late 1700s, the church is dedicated to the Divine Saviour, Jesus Christ. The existing pagoda styled Pagbilao church, including its walls and bell tower, was built in 1823. Its original infrastructure was the combination of stone and bricks and mortar. Timoteo Ocampo served as the first parish priest from 1823 to 1835. The past decade have seen its renovation and is now a shrine of modern-day architecture. The church roof was replaced with galvanized iron, with new stone flooring and new fixtures This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Philippines.
