It is one of two churches in the Philippines built in the Renaissance style of architecture. The church was first constructed in 1586 and has undergone several renovations throughout the years. It is known for its eight-sided bell tower, called campanario de Molave, which is considered to be the longest bell tower in the Philippines, measuring at 70 feet in length. History:

In the 16th Century, Molo Church was founded as a parish by the Augustinian friars. It has been rebuilt, renovated, and destroyed several times since then. In 1890, the church was redesigned to its present Spanish Renaissance style. The bell tower was designed and constructed by a mestizo engineer named Loloy Herrera, who also worked on renovations for the nearby Jaro Cathedral. This renovation restored its façade, but it was still destroyed once in 1948. As of 2019, the church is undergoing restoration to its original state.
