The original Anglican church on the site of St. George’s Anglican Cathedral in Palestine was constructed between 1849 and 1881. The original building was destroyed during the Arab-Israeli War of 1948 but was later rebuilt in the 1960s. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Palestine.
